Vanesa Fernández-Moreira earned her PhD in Chemistry at Cardiff University, UK (2008), after completing her studies in Vigo. She held postdoctoral positions at EPFL (Switzerland) and Trinity College Dublin (Ireland) before joining ISQCH-CSIC in Zaragoza in 2011, where she co-leads research on luminescent metallodrugs for theranostics. Awarded a Ramón y Cajal fellowship in 2019, she became a tenure-track researcher in 2024. She is also a board member of AEBIN, and her research focuses on innovative metallodrugs for photodynamic therapy.
