María del Puerto Morales has been a research professor at the Institute of Materials Science of Madrid (ICMM/CSIC) since 2018 and coordinator of the CSIC Nanomedicine Connection since its creation in 2021. She earned her degree in Chemistry from the University of Salamanca in 1989 and her PhD from the Autonomous University of Madrid in 1993. Her work focuses on nanotechnology applied to medicine and the environment, particularly magnetic materials. She has been the principal investigator in four EU projects, published over 300 articles, and supervised eight doctoral theses.
